Speed skating suits tested in LST

Early March 2016 SportConfex and Team Lotto.NL Jumbo, of among others Dutch champion Sven Kramer, conducted wind tunnel tests in DNW-LST to support the development of a new fast speed skating suit for the next Olympic winter games. DNW celebrates 40th anniversary

Today, the Netherlands and Germany celebrate 40 years of collaboration in aeronautical research at the DNW in the Netherlands (Marknesse). On the 30th of June 1976 DNW was established by the Netherlands and German Aerospace Centers NLR and DLR. DNW has been instrumental in the development of many European aircraft and helicopters like Airbus, Eurofighter and NH-90. DNW’s high-tech facilities combined with specialist knowledge has made DNW a global player in the aerospace domain. Speakers at the celebration include Dr. Wolfgang Scheremet, Directorate General Industrial Policy of the German Ministry of Economic Affairs, and Mr. Maarten Camps, Secretary General of the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Maar de laatste jaren zijn Chinezen en Brazilianen steeds belangrijker als opdrachtgevers voor de Nederlands-Duitse organisatie, die dit jaar veertig jaar bestaat. ’’Om de beste ter wereld te blijven, moeten overheden wel in onze infrastructuur investeren’’, zegt directeur prof. dr. ing. 2nd Polish-Brazilian Conference on Science and Technology

On 07 and 08 September 2016 the 2nd Polish-Brazilian Conference on Science and Technology was organized by the Polish Institute of Aviation ILOT in Warsaw. The objective of the conference was to bring together participants to present achievements of cooperation in scientific research, research and development programs and projects. After a warm welcome by Witold Wiśniowski (Director of the Institute of Aviation), Alfredo Leoni (Ambassador of Brazil in Poland) and minister Aleksander Bobko (secretary of State, Ministry of Science and Higher Education), Christophe Hermans, as a guest of honor of the institute, presented DNW capabilities and testing technologies.

During the last General Assembly meeting of the Council of European Aerospace Societies CEAS, Christophe Hermans, Board of Trustee member on behalf of the Netherlands Aeronautical Society NVvL, was elected CEAS president for 2017.
